We came here a few times during our time in Maui. It was probably our favourite snorkeling spot (when the weather was cooperating). The areas we snorkeled in were straight out from the beach and a bit to the right (when looking out from shore). The area out to the left seemed fine at first until I looked behind me and saw a swell towering over me. It turns out this part of the bay is a popular surfing spot because of the waves.
