I came back to Bonito Crescent on May 24, 2025. This time I wanted to dive the series of reefs stretching out to the right (East). This is an area that I've been to a few times before, but this time I wanted to try going a bit farther than I usually do.
I swam down the slope from the entry-point beach. Visibility in the shallows was only 8' or so, but it gradually cleared to about 40'. When I reached the solid rock reef/wall in front of the entry-point, I turned right and continued following the series of reefs separated by sand/gravel areas. My depth here was about 80'.
I reached the bigger, deeper rocky area covered with feather stars. I swam a bit farther than I usually go here and the reef kept going. My maximum depth was 119' where I quickly ducked down to take pictures of a semi-adult yelloweye rockfish. The bottom went deeper than that below me, but I had to limit my nitrogen uptake since I was a fair distance from shore.
This area with the plumose anemones is where I usually turn around, but again, today I swam a bit farther.
I turned around and started swimming back higher up along the reef.
In a gap between the reefs at about 50' deep, I came across a sunken upside down boat.
