These photos are from May 13, 2023. Visibility was 15-20'. I swam down the rocky slope about halfway along the point. Out on the sand, I only saw one sea pen. There was a semi-strong current, but it wasn't too bad so I headed out past the tip of the point towards the deeper reefs that I usually visit. It took me awhile to find them and I only had about half my air left so I just had a quick tour with a maximum depth of 65' before heading back.
I came back 2 days later to try and have a longer visit along the deeper reef area. Unfortunately, the current was about as strong as I've ever felt here. It was mostly too strong to swim against and I was swept along towards the tip of the point, where an opposite flow of current from the other side of the point collided with the flow that I was in. This created an area with a confused current flowing around in different and changing directions. It was weak enough for me to stop and hang around about 20-30' deep. I had no chance of being able to swim out deeper so I just spent the dive in these relative shallows under the bull kelp (which is coming up nicely). Visibility was about 15', with lots of sediment being swept along in the current.
