I did 2 dives at Orlebar Point on Dec. 29-30, 2023. Most of these photos are from the first dive (I took video on the second). Once away from the slightly stirred-up shallows, visibility was around 50'. There were groups of California and Steller's sealions hanging around near shore on both days. One unusual thing is that I saw a couple of semi-large (about 3' across) cloud sponges down at around 115' deep. Over the years I've seen a few smaller ones here, but I can't see how it's possible that I could have dove along this part of the wall before and not seen these larger ones. Down below them, there was an area about 130' deep (I didn't swim down that far) that was covered with dozens of small, hand-sized cloud sponges.
If I had to quickly blurt out what my favorite shore dive in the Strait of Georgia was without putting much thought into it, Orlebar Point would probably be it.
