I said last time that if I dove here again it would be when the weather wasn't so hot, when the visibility was better and when the tide was higher. Today (Aug. 23, 2021) all 3 of those conditions were met. The temperature was down to a more reasonable 17 degrees so I braved the steep trail down to the water. My plan was to dive out along the left-hand side of the cove (last time I dove the right side). Visibility in the shallows was 10-15' with lots of suspended white particles. Below 20' deep, visibility improved to 40-50'. I swam along the base of the slope. I saw a sunken boat standing on end and a couple of dogfish sharks.
So far, the bottom was mostly silty sand/gravel, but at about 60' deep, I came across a large rocky area.
Out at the left-hand point at the entrance to the bay, visibility was closer to 80'. I hovered at 100' deep and could see the bottom continue to drop away to at least 130' deep. I think if I try to reach this area again, I'd swim out from the Henderson Point dive site access since it's probably a shorter swim and definitely a shorter, less-steep hike.
I swam back around the corner into the cove.
