We spent lots of time every day snorkeling around our hotel, but these photos are from a scuba dive I did to do a weight check before boat diving and to take some macro photos (which I find almost impossible to do while snorkeling). The shore drops straight down in a small wall that ends in flat sand 10' deep. On the satellite image there are large dark patches out from this sand that I at first assumed were coral outcrops, but soon found that they were sea grass beds. I didn't see any coral or rocky areas out on the sand. The wall is covered with many of the same kinds of coral and colourful sponges that you can see on the deeper reefs, but here they are smaller. This is also a great spot for fish. I saw different species of moray eels and rays, as well as the same species of fish seen out on the reefs, but again, smaller.
Looking back at the wall from the sea grass beds:
While it seems silly to dive here when it's only 10' deep and you can see everything while snorkeling, I found that it's a good site to poke around and find all kinds of things that I would have missed while drifting along in the current at the more popular boat diving sites.
